5 Days of Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas - Day 5

Day 5: Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas

My boys are older now but sometimes they still want to participate in the decorating. A really fun way to get everyone involved is to go on a nature walk. Collect leaves, sticks, acorns, walnuts, pecans, and anything else you see along the way.

Additional supplies you may need are a wreath form, a hot glue gun and maybe some fabric.

Place everything on the table, heat your glue gun, and wrap the wreath form with fabric. Glue where needed.

Take your nature walk findings and place them on the wreath in a pleasing way. Be sure to tell your perfectionist ego to 'go take a hike' because this time is for the family. Enjoy it, flaws and all.

5 Days of Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas - Day 4

Day 4: Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas

Pumpkins and Gourds abound this time of year. The Pumpkin Farm is always on our things to do list in Autumn. We like to go on a hayride out to the pumpkin patch, choose our pumpkin and take it home. Normally we don't decorate our pumpkins so it stays all natural until Thanksgiving Day.

This will usually cost about $5.00 but some years we decide to push it up to $10 if we feel we need just a few more pumpkins or gourds to brighten up our space.

You can decorate your home with pumpkins as is or you can spray paint your pumpkin a different color and glitter or stickers. Some  wrap the pumpkin in fabric and tie with a bow on top and others use stencils to decorate the pumpkin.

You can also invest a set of fake pumpkins and gourds from a dollar store or even pick up a few at a second hand thrift shop. This way you will have them for multiple years.

5 Days of Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas - Day 3

Day 3: Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas

Do you have old sheets? pillow cases? material? or other items to make handmade decorations with? This is a great frugal way to decorate your home using what you already have.

If you have some Autumn themed sheets, just cut them up, sew the edges and you have a set of cloth napkins.

You can also use the extra material to make a cloth pumpkin to decorate your dining table or coffee table.

5 Days of Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas - Day 2

Day 2: Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas

Autumnal Wall Clings are another way I like to decorate our space. Again, I don't buy these anymore as I save what we had from years before.

We have leaves, a couple of pumpkins, acorns and a number of silly gourds and ears of corns.

5 Days of Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas - Day 1

It's hard to believe that Fall is here ~ The turning of the leaves, the nippy weather and all the glorious orange pumpkins and crazy shaped gourds.

It's hard to believe because the weather here can't make up its' mind. We are chilly in the mornings and the late evenings but during the days we still get temps in the high 80's - 90's.

Despite the weather though I'm gearing up to decorate our space this weekend. We don't buy decorations anymore, we try to take what we can from outdoors and bring it in. We also reuse anything we bought in previous years.

Day 1: Frugal Fall Decorating Ideas

Silk Maple Leaves are my standby for when the natural leaves don't cooperate with me.

I have some packed away in my autumn tote from when I had a job. I'm so glad I saved these.

I use these on the fireplace and on the dining table at meals.

Bible in 90 Days Challenge Week 7 Check-in

Welcome to Week 7 of the Bible in 90 Days Challenge. Thank you  for checking in last week. Glad that you decided to stay.

I caught up and now I'm behind a couple of days again. Still plugging away at it and I am confident that I'll be caught up by the end of the week.

Lost a couple of members but I'm still praying for them. Life is tough and this challenge is tough. It seems that if something is going to happen, it will happen during this challenge. Dark forces do not want you in the Word.

If, Faith is our Goal and Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God - you need to know that you will be faced with all sorts of troubles and distractions in order to keep you from feeding on the Word of God which is your spiritual food - your life sustenance.
